Clinic Commons

A shared foundation for outpatient care

Public tools that clinics can use, adapt, and share

Clinic Commons is a public infrastructure project — built in the open, governed by clinicians, and protected as a public good. We maintain modular, openly licensed resources, from clinical protocols to governance models, designed to support safe, affordable care without lock-in.

Outpatient care lacks shared infrastructure

Independent clinics often face the same challenges alone: developing protocols, creating workflows, adapting systems, or paying for platforms that don't match how they operate. Clinic Commons offers a shared foundation shaped by clinicians and built for everyday practice, so no clinic has to start from scratch. We’re beginning with prototypes for office-based labs and ambulatory surgery centers, with a broader aim to support independent care across the outpatient landscape.

Protected to stay public

The Clinic Commons Foundation is the nonprofit steward of the project. It holds the legal and community framework — licenses, trademark, and shared rules — that keep the commons open, accountable, and in the hands of those who provide care. Its role is to protect the integrity of the project and ensure it remains a tool the clinical community can trust, use, and shape together.

Built to support care — and made for those who deliver it.

Clinic Commons is developed in the open. You can explore, adapt, or contribute:
